Common Faults and Troubleshooting Methods of Double Planetary Mixers

It is inevitable that planetary mixers may encounter some faults and problems during long-term operation, resulting in failure to operate normally. Based on more than ten years of experience in the design and production of planetary mixers, Wuxi Gangben Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has summarized and sorted out the common faults and troubleshooting methods of double planetary mixers, compiled them into the following list for customers to save and use.


8.1 Material

All parts in contact with materials are made of high-quality 304 stainless steel. All sealing materials are silicone rubber or fluororubber.

Container

  • Standard cylinder quantity: 1 piece

  • Equipped with stainless steel heating/cooling jacket

  • PT-100 temperature measuring probe on the side wall of the container


8.2 Vacuum Cover

  • Made of 304 stainless steel

  • 2 sight glass feeding ports with DN100 specification

  • Equipped with vacuum interface, vacuum gauge and vacuum release port

  • High-strength planetary gear specially designed by Hengli Machinery inside


8.3 Stirring Head and Drive

Ⅰ) Planetary Frame Stirring

  • Spiral planetary stirring paddle is driven by a standard motor

  • Equipped with high-efficiency transmission gear reducer

  • Motor parameters: 1.5KW, 380V, 3-phase, 50Hz, protection class IP54

  • Revolution speed: 40RPM; Rotation speed: 70RPM





8.4 Wall Scraping Device

  • Equipped with side wall scrapers with automatically adjustable scraping angles and PTFE scrapers

  • The wall scraping device revolves along the container together with the planetary gearbox


8.5 Positioning

This structure can easily meet manual positioning requirements.


8.6 Lifting System

  • Adopts traditional electric lead screw flexible lifting method

  • Cooperates with mechanical micro travel switch to control lifting stroke, ensuring stability and safety


9.1 Safety Devices

  • One safety limit switch ensures the mixer cannot start normally when the container is not in the stirring position or the stirring head is not lowered in place, so as to protect the operator's personal safety.

  • The frequency converter provides overcurrent and overload protection for the equipment.


9.2 Control System

  • Power switch: The power switch must be turned on first to operate other buttons and observe functions during equipment production. Turn off this button after use to put the equipment in standby mode.

  • Cover open / Cover close: These two buttons are used together to open the cover for taking out the material cylinder and close the cover for production. Note: Before pressing "Cover open", open any ball valve on the cover first to keep normal pressure inside the cylinder.

  • Stir on / Stir off / Main pot stirring speed adjustment: Used in conjunction. The main pot stirring has a timing function. Refer to the instrument manual for specific setting methods.

  • Vacuum switch: A toggle switch to turn on the vacuum pump, which is used to create negative pressure in the cylinder for defoaming. This function can only be used when the cover is closed.

  • Lighting switch: Used for internal lighting of the cylinder.

  • Emergency stop switch: Used for emergency shutdown.

  • Instruments such as temperature control display, stirring speed display and stirring time display: Refer to the corresponding instruction manuals for operation.
